My name is Austin Tiffany, and I am the Executive Director for the International Community of the Holy Sepulchre. We are so happy that you're interested in our work.
ICoHS is a new organisation that seeks to strengthen Christian communities in the Holy Land. As a someone who has studied religious communities, theology, and interreligious relations, the Christian communities in the Holy Land serve as an inspiration for all of us.
As descendants of the earliest Christian church, Christians embody an ethos of hospitality in a region known more for its division. Christian schools welcome children of all faith; medical centres serve everybody in the area; every holy site is open to all who wish to visit - Christian, Muslim, Jew, Atheist, etc. They do so while maintaining and providing a vital link to the origin of our faith, whether through preserving holy sites, welcoming us into their historic churches, or leading us through the streets of the Old City where Jesus himself once walked.
The Holy Land is a fabric interwoven with a religious diversity that goes back centuries. By bolstering and supporting the Christian communities, we want to ensure that the entire Holy Land flourishes.
To make this happen, we are creating a wide body of support from around the world that can join us in learning from and lending a hand to our sisters and brothers in the Holy Land. We have ambitious plans to restore holy sites (like the Site of Pentecost and Kathisma Church), renovate schools in Jerusalem, and help refugees in Jordan. We will work with our friends in the Halls of Westminster and Congress to ensure that Christians' voices are heard in those seats of power. Most of all, we will encourage and empower you to learn, visit, and pray for these communities.
If you are keen to support ICoHS, or if you want to learn more, visit our "Support Us" page. We're excited to begin this journey, and we hope you will join us.
